Yong Zhang

It's Yong Zhang's (the pretty boy) birthday today. And also the Anatomy & Physiology paper. Thank God, it wasn't what I've expected the questions to be =) But I've overestimated the paper so there were still some basic things which I've not put much effort on. Anyway, after the exam, we stayed back to discuss where to have Yong Zhang birthday celebration. At first we agreed on Old Town but I have sort of gotten sick of the food there so we planned to go to this cafe called Station One. We met up at around 10pm plus. And the fun night began =D

Welcome to Station One Cafe.. The spokesperson =P

Bluish Drink

Lamb Chop

Tom Yam Mee Hoon

I m not sure what is this coz I m not the one who ordered this

Should ask Ren Sin. Hehe

I wonder what's so scary about the prawn =P

The Birthday Boy =)

The Birthday Cake

Apparently, it's written "four-legged snake here", if I m not wrong.

We had requested for them to switched off the light and they really did. Saw the lighted cross on Yong Zhang's t-shirt? We were so amazed by it coz it looked so nice and special.

I don't know what had happened to him here

Make a wish =)

This is the part where they pushed the candle deep inside the cake and asked the birthday boy to take it out with his mouth.

Can you see the candle? Neither do I. Haha.

Tryin

Tryin hard

So much for sacrificin our revision time to celebrate his birthday for him and this was how he repaid us. Look at the pictures of the "victims" below and you will know what had actually happened. As far as I can remembered, only Alex and Qing Long were not "victimised" but where are Karen and Yong Zhang's unglam pictures?? Mine was taken so many times. Unfair!! And I wonder why all of us looked so happy after bein bullied.

Actually I had been tryin so hard to stay away from Yong Zhang but never did it occur to me that he could have an accomplice. And he was none other than LIM YI HAUR!!

And I was forced to take all these so unglam pictures yet smilin so happily =P

How sweet. Haha.

Elvis lookalike??

Oh my.. What are they tryin to do??

Story unravellin slowly..

Slowly..

Ta-Da!! It's a ring!! Ren Sin is proposin on Yong Zhang's special day due to alot, I repeat, alot of pressure from us. Hahahahahaha.

This is what we called "THE SPOILER"

Yi Haur, what are you doin?? This is so wrong..

Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, or in Chinese, Zhongqiu Jie (traditional Chinese: 中秋節), is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people and Vietnamese people (even though they celebrate it differently), dating back over 3,000 years to moon-worship in China's Shang Dynasty. It was first called Zhongqiu Jie (literally "Mid-Autumn Festival") in the Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is usually around mid or late September in the Gregorian. It is a date that parallels the autumn and spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most important holidays in the Chinese calendar, the other being the Chinese New Year, and is a legal holiday in several countries. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together. Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as:

Eating mooncake outside under the moon.

Putting pomelo rinds on one's head.

Carrying brightly lit lanterns, lighting lanterns on towers, floating sky lanterns.

Burning incense in reverence to deities including Chang'e (simplified Chinese: 嫦娥; traditional Chinese: 嫦娥; pinyin: cháng'é)

Planting Mid-Autumn trees.

Collecting dandelion leaves and distributing them evenly among family members.

Fire Dragon Dances.

(cited from Wikipedia)

Above is a short desription about Mid-Autumn Festival. I thought it would be nice to know a lil more about this very popular festival we celebrate every year besides the super delicious mooncakes and beautiful lanterns. I continued on to look for the origin of this festival and found out there were so many versions of them. In Wikipedia alone, there are already five. Therefore instead of crampin all the stories in one post, I decided to write one version for every year's Moon Cake Festival =) So here goes the first version of the festival's origin, the version I liked best ;)

A long, long time ago, a terrible drought plagued the earth. Ten suns burned fiercely in the sky like smoldering volcanoes. The trees and grass were scorched. The land was cracked and parched, and rivers were dried. Many people died of hunger and thirst.
The King of Heaven sent Hou Yi down to the earth to help. When Hou Yi arrived, he took out his red bow and white arrows and shot down nine suns one after another. The weather immediately turned cooler. Heavy rains filled the rivers with fresh water and the grass and trees turned green. Life was restored and humanity was saved.
One day, a charming young woman Chang'e made her way home from a stream, holding a bamboo container. A young man came forward, asking for a drink. When she saw the red bow and white arrows hanging round his belt, Chang'er realized that he was their savior, Hou Yi. Inviting him to drink, Chang'e plucked a beautiful flower and gave it to him as a token of respect. Hou Yi, in turn, selected a beautiful silver fox fur as his gift for her. This meeting kindled the spark of their love. And soon after that, they got married.
A mortal's life is limited, of course. So in order to enjoy his happy life with Chang'e forever, Hou Yi decided to look for an elixir of life. He went to the Kunlun Mountains where the Western Queen Mother lived.
Out of respect for the good deeds he had done, the Western Queen Mother rewarded Hou Yi with the elixir, a fine powder made from kernels of fruit which grew on the tree of eternity. At the same time, she told him that if he and his wife shared the elixir, they would both enjoy eternal life; but if only one of them took it, that one would ascend to Heaven and become immortal.
Hou Yi returned home and told his wife all that had happened and they decided to drink the elixir together on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month when the moon was full and bright.
A wicked and merciless man named Feng Meng overheard their plan. He wished Hou Yi an early death so that he could drink the elixir himself and become immortal. His opportunity finally arrived. One day, when the full moon is rising, Hou Yi was on his way home from hunting. Feng Meng killed him. The murderer then ran to Hou Yi's home and forced Chang'e to give him the elixir. Without hesitating, Chang'e picked up the elixir and drunk it all.
Overcome with grief, Chang'e rushed to her dead husband's side, weeping bitterly. Soon the elixir began to have its effect and Chang'er felt herself being lifted towards Heaven.
Chang'e decided to live on the moon because it was the nearest to the earth. There she lived a simple and contented life. Even though she was in Heaven, her heart remained in the world of mortals. Never did she forget the deep love she had for Hou Yi and the love she felt for the people who had shared their sadness and happiness.

I've always missed the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration back home as it falls on a schoolin term most of the times. Unless when it falls on weekends which I might be able to go back for a day or two. This year's festival is on a beautiful Sunday and like I said I might have been able to sneak back home but how unfortunate, I m havin my finals. Sob sob. So in order to compensate our loss for not bein able to go home to savour all the delicious food and of course the yummy mooncakes, Karen and I went to eat Bak Kut Teh. Just the both of us =) It's been a long time since we both ate Bak Kut Teh. How we enjoyed the meal. The moon is exceptionally round and beautiful today. I've always loved the sight of a full moon. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyyone. Wish for every family and loved ones in this whole wide world to stay together forever ;)

I find this piano mooncake casing and the mooncakes in it extremely cute. Especially when they are of Hello Kitty designs. Why don't they have this over here?

Luke

Finally calmed myself down now after today's dreadful experience, with the help of a river of tears and lots of sleep. Not forgettin Karen's comfortin words. I know you care. Thanks dear. Really appreciate it. Now is the middle of the night. Msn-ing with Luke as he was not asleep yet. Told him of my bad day and he was relatin a similar experience of his to me. Glad that someone actually understood what I was goin through. I was lamentin on my dyin enthusiasm to continue studyin for my remainin papers. This was when he sent me a song sung and composed by Gary Chaw Ge. He told me this song could motivate me as it did the same for him. Listenin to the song now and tryin to understand the lyrics. So far the lyrics of the song is good. Hope it will really lift me up. A million of thanks Luke, for being there for me when I needed someone to talk to the most =)

Bad Day

Have you ever felt at times that you've worked hard for nothin? That all your efforts had gone to waste? That you had painstakingly build up your confidence only to have it crushed by the end of the day? That's exactly how I m feelin. All I need now is a good cry I guess. Sorry mummy for I have let you down. Your good luck msg early this mornin didn't seem to work.

09.09, a supposedly good day accordin to Chinese custom. Yeah right.

Revision Day

Tomorrow will be the startin of two dreadful weeks. The first day of exam =( Went to Old Town to study with Karen and Basil today. Felt so stressful. Sigh. However, all thanks to Basil the Math whiz, that I managed to understand better. We stayed in Old Town from mornin till the settin of sun before we adjourned to Mcdonald's which is just nearby. We couldn't stand the music in which they played at Old Town, as their so-called classical music sounded like lullaby to us especially at a time where we needed to stay as fresh as possible and most of the music cracked a lil here and there. It was just so annoyin instead of providin the soothin effect. I had even went to the manager and requested for a CD change but she said it was their company policy to play this CD so there was nothin that she could do. Apparently, all the Old Town outlets in Malaysia are supposed to play this type of music. *Speechless*

Karen and I then went over to McD while Basil continued stayin at Old Town coz his friend was there. Over at McD, the whole place was full of students, takin the opportunity to do group revision. However, as it was the Ramadhan month, the manager requested for us to leave the place coz they wanted more seats to accommodate those who were breakin fast. And so we left. Before returnin to our condo, we went over to Secret Recipe which is also nearby, to have our dinner. Karen was the "wife-of-the-day" as she did not bring any money out so I as the so-called "husband" ended payin for everythin. She was so enjoyin the the day. Hehe. After dinner we went back to our room and now we are still continuin our Math battle.

Aunty Annie

Xiao Yi!! That's how I love to greet her in shouts just so to surprise and annoy her whenever I came back home from KL. She'll then sigh and ask what's the point of me comin back. Well of course that's only a joke from her. Hehe. Anyway, it's her birthday today and I would like to wish her a very happy birthday. Too bad I couldn't wish her personally as I am still stuck in KL preparin for my exams =( May God bless you with great health, happiness, lots and love and care and may He also grants all your wishes and dreams =) Stay as beautiful and as cute as ever =D Love ya!!

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To my dearest Aunty Annie

Happy Birthday To You

P.S: Gosh, seems like my birthday wishes have been almost the same for all. Well.. these are all the nice sweet words we can wish someone for their birthday, right? I'll try to crack my brain for some new form of wishes. But till then, just have to make do with this. Hehe.

Happy =D

The startin of study week. Had a grocery shoppin date with Karen in Jusco. While on the way out to get a cab, suddenly got a surprise call from Aunty Christina. Turned out that she, Uncle Philip, grandma, Nicholas, Aloysius and Valerie were on a holiday trip in KL. They were just back from Berjaya Hills, the resort with the French and Japanese villages. However, they did not bring me there coz they thought it was not on the way but it actually was. Sob sob =(

But anyway, I went to Jusco with Karen first before goin to meet my family members. We went to have our lunch in Nando's. It's been so long since I had Nando's. Tasted great coz it was spicy. Just love spicy food. Hehe. Then after that we started our shoppin. Bought quite alot of stuffs, mostly food coz we were so afraid that we might starved ourselves to death durin our examinations period. Hehe. Shopped till around 5 plus then we went back home.

Once home, I took a quick shower and did a lil packin before makin my way to Mid Valley as my family was stayin in Cititel Hotel. Reached there at around 7 plus. Went straight to the hotel to meet up with them. Then later on we proceeded to Mid Valley for our dinner. Initially, Uncle Philip wanted to eat at Chili's but in the end we had our dinner at Esquire Kitchen as grandma is not accustomed to eatin western food.

After dinner we walked around Mid Valley and Gardens for a while. It was the last day of Mega Sales but not really that many people. Did not buy anythin as well. Went back to hotel after all the shops have closed their doors. Camwhored with my cousins and grandma before sleepin. Hehe.

Grandma looked so sleepy. Hehe.

This pic as well as the pic of me and grandma were taken by the small lil talented Miss Valerie below. She's such a lil rascal =P

Nicholas and me continued camwhorin even after everyone else is asleep =P

Love this pic. Don't know why but I just think Nicholas looked particularly good here =)

The next day, we woke up early at around 7 a.m to have our breakfast at the hotel's cafe. It was of buffet style. Below were the pics taken after the fulfillin breakfast =)

Aunty Christina, Uncle Philip and Grandma. Picture taken by lil Valerie =)

After breakfast we went back to Mid Valley to window shop. Had our lunch at Dragon-i. Their dumplings a.k.a xiao long pau were superb. One is never enough. Hehe. However their ramen was not that nice though. Not to my liking. Love my family lots lots. Missed them so much before this. And then it came the time to say our goodbyes :'( So wished to be able to go back to JB with them as well. Hate exams =( But all in all, I've had fun. It was so enjoyin and blessed to be able to spend time with my family. Can't wait to go home.

National Day

Happy Birthday to Malaysia and Happy National Day To Everyone =)

Went to Bukit Bintang area (Pavilion and Times Square) to windowshop with Wilfred. Nothin much to do so just walk walk around. Karen and friends had a birthday celebration for Qing Long at night but I did not join them. So sorry Qing Long, promise you that I'll join in your birthday dinner next year =)

Jerry

Went out with Jerry a.k.a Chee Hoe today. Jerry is a friend known through Joel. He is Joel's best bud. A nice friend who never fails to offer me realistic advices whenever I tend to daydream. Hehe. Glad that I got him as a friend and though me n Joel did not manage to work out, Jerry and I are still good friends =)

He has just returned from his work trip from China and he promised me souvenirs!! That's why I went out with him. Lol. Just kiddin =P We met up at around 2 plus and being the road id**t that he is (that's a known fact to us =P), I was so afraid that he could not find my place. Haha. Luckily he managed to.

However, he was still one blur guy coz he forgot to bring out my gifts when he came to fetch me. So we had to go back to his place (luckily not that far as he stays in Selayang) to take the souvenirs meant for me. He bought me one of the Beijing Olympic Mascot plus a handphone keychain. The red coloured one. Did not request him to buy that colour for me but ended up he did. I was so thrilled as it was exactly what I wanted. Haha. That is what we called fate. It is so meant to be mine =)

In the end, we had our lunch cum conversation at a cafe in Selayang Mall. Stayed there chattin till around 5 plus then we left. Not knowin where to head to after that as it was the eve of National Day and there were bound to be traffic jams everywhere especially in town, we decided that he send me back home. This meetin up was a great one n I really look forward to the next one if only he's willin to sacrifice his precious time to meet me. Busy guy.. Sigh sigh. Hehe.

Wall-E

It's Movies Day and again, there's no Anatomy & Physiology lecture class. Yippie =) So me, Karen, Yi Haur, Ren Sin, Jerome, Joseph and Yong Zhang went for movies together. This time not in KLCC but instead we headed over to Pavilion. Yong Zhang actually had somethin else on, however, seein how excited we were when checkin the showtimes in the library, he cannot stop himself from bein tempted to join us as well. Or maybe coz he cannot bear to leave Ren Sin?? Oh my, this is so wrong. I m so evil =P Haha.

So we took LRT and monorail, got down at Lot 10 then walked over to Pavilion. We had Carl's Jr for lunch. The burger was to big for me to be consumed alone so me n Karen decided to share one. It was so yummy!! I believe I've found an addition to my long list of cravings =) The drinks were refillable and we had an idea. We decided to smuggle in the drinks with.. what else, my large bag =D So everyone's drinks were cramped into my bag and I had to handle it so carefully. Lol.

Just as we were makin a dash to the cinema coz we were runnin late for the movie, I found out that I've lost the tickets!! A total of 5 tickets!! I was startin to get really nervous and Jerome, Yi Haur and Joseph ran down all the way back to the restaurant to help me look for the tickets. I found the tickets at almost the exact time as they reached the restaurant. Poor the three guys as they made a wasted trip just coz of my carelessness and I feel so bad about it =( I kept apologisin and bein the gentlemen that they were, all they said was "It's okay" =)

And so we went for the movies. I mentioned only five tickets coz Ren Sin and Yong Zhang went to watch a different movie. We went to watch Wall-E while they watched The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor as they have already watched Wall-E. I m not a very big fan of animated movies so the movie was average for me, though many find to be real nice and funny.

It has a touchin plot and needless to say, Eve is so beautiful and I really like her =) Actually I love another character inside the movie, in case anyone of you did notice, it was a very pinkish flyin thingy which I do not know what it was. But it was just too cute. Hehe.

After the movie, Karen and Jerome had to rush to church as they had a choir practice so left me with the other four guys. It was rainin so we window-shopped for some time before makin our way home. It was still rainin when we left but we did not feel like waitin anymore and the consequence was: soaked-wet. Yong Zhang had parked his car at the LRT station so he brought all of us to dinner before sendin all of us back. How sweet of him. Well, he's always the Mr. Nice Guy =)

Nicky's Birthday

This post is especially dedicated to Tze Heng a.k.a Nicky, a friend known through Karen. Knew him for not that long, however all in all, we had great conversations together. Hehe. And he cooked meatball spaghetti for me before =) We had a birthday dinner celebration for him in Feeling Cafe, a cafe once owned by Michael Wong a.k.a Guang Liang. This group of friends comprises mainly of Karen's ex-highschool classmates and i managed to know all of them, all thanks to her. Haha. It was a great night. Hope you had a great time too, Tze Heng ;)

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To Nicky

May all your wishes n dreams come true yea n stay happy always =) God Bless.

P.S: Some of the pictures were a lil blur as they were taken from a handphone camera.. Sorry yea.. I had lost the most of the pics taken on that night by Nicky himself and sent to me by Chung Wei. I wonder which part of my laptop are those pics hiding in. Somehow they just disappeared. So please bear with these not-so-clear pics till I find the lost ones, if I m lucky enough, hopefully.

Happy Birthday to my ever so dearest Mummy!! Sorry as I couldn't make it home to celebrate with you =( But you do know my wishes are sent to you with love =D May all your wishes and dreams come true. God bless you with good health, happiness, lots of love and care. Stay beautiful always =) Love you lots lots. Hugs and kisses.

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To My Lovely Mummy

Happy Birthday To You

Today is also the Olympic finals badminton. It was a duel between our Malaysia No.1 Lee Chong Wei and China No.1 Lin Dan. I dragged Basil out to a nearby mamak to watch with me as Karen was not around. He was the China supporter as he so believed that Lin Dan will surely win. He even said that he was prepared to stand up and sing the China's national anthem. Haha.

I was tryin so hard to convince him otherwise but well.. I do know the honest truth. As predicted, Chong Wei lost, though I was really hopin he'll win so that Malaysia can finally have her first Olympic gold medal. Nevertheless, Chong Wei's fightin spirit is commendable =)

Yum Cha

Went out yum cha-in with a bunch of my guy friends. I was the only girl around as Karen stayed over in her church. It's okay though coz they have long treated me as a guy. How very sad. Lost my girly image :'(

Chuan Wei a.k.a Kiddy came and fetched me to meet up with the rest who were already watchin a live telecast football match at the mamak restaurant. The match was between Manchester United and Liverpool. It was funny how guys can get so excited and upbeat about a football match that they were not even playin in it themselves. If you were to tell them this, they will surely say, "You girls will never understand. It's the feelin".

Yaya. Whatever. Haha.

Not that I don't like football. I enjoy watchin it sometimes, more so if there are few cute players in it =P Ok, back to the night. After the yum cha session, I was supposed to help out Chuan Wei with his lab report. So we ended up doin till early mornin while the rest were just playin games. How heartless of them.

Came back home only after a sumptuous dim sum breakfast. Now is already 9 am plus and I haven't even sleep a wink the whole night. I m off to la-la land. Goodnight =)

Sok Ling is leavin for US today =( I m really feelin very bad and guilty as I was unable to send her off at the airport. I m really sorry dear. I did try my best but.. I know you do understand. Can't believe it we have been the best of friends for 13 years now. In fact all of us have been together for that long. It was just months ago that you mentioned bout leavin in August and how time flies, you actually left now.

Here's wishin you bon voyage and hopin everythin go smoothly for you, be it in studies or just everythin. It's a lil comfort to me knowin that Albert will be accompanyin you there. At least you won't be alone. I'll be missin you lots lots. May God bless you with all the strength and courage needed. Muacks.

Sex and The City

Anatomy & Physiology lecture was cancelled today. So after Thermodynamics lecture at 12pm, Karen and I went over to KLCC to catch a movie as today is Wednesday, the Movies Day. We bought the tickets for Sex and the City. The movie came out on my birthday and we had wanted to watch on that day but then I reckoned it was kinda inappropriate to be watchin it with a bunch of guys. Hehe.

The movie was good I would say, simply because I love it, though I have not watched even an episode of the series and Sok Ling has been tellin me how good it was. Thought I will not be able to understand the movie but luckily I was armed with the basic knowledge about the characters =)

Crazy Day

Today is the deadline of four lab reports, all of the same subject but different experiments. Not only that, I'll be havin two tests (not the same subject) later in the day as well. This stress is overwhelmin me. Sigh. This is nothin but crazy to me. Got to continue studyin and finishin my reports now =(

Bubble Tea

Bubble tea has been a must-have to both me and Karen recently. We just somehow got addicted to it, especially when there is a shop sellin it just downstairs of our block. Nice =)

Today we had dinner together with Basil at the shop below his block (we stay at different blocks) then we head over to our block to buy bubble tea. Hehe. Basil had the champagne-flavoured one, Karen had the blueberry-flavoured while me, I bought strawberry-flavoured one.

Basil was such a sweet-talker to the aunty sellin it that she gave us a free one cup of original flavour (which is milk tea). Hehe. The free drink ended up in Karen's hands as she just love it too much. We stayed in the playground chattin till we finished each of our own drinks before returnin home =)

The drinks are so colourful. The blue one is champagne, the purple is the blueberry and the pink is the strawberry =)

Karen & Basil

What are they doin??

The cup is already empty and she's still drinkin. Oh my.. =P
