Felicia

Met up with Felicia today. She came all the way from Perling to come and fetch me. The journey normally takes around 30 minutes. That was just so sweet of her. We went all the way to City Square, a.k.a CS, coz it has really been very long time since I stepped into the shoppin centre. Just wanna see if there's any changes. Reminded of the times in high school where we used to love hangin out there coz it's very near to Convent, just one short bus trip.

We just simply walked around. Not much changes I would say and as usual, nothin much to shop. So we decided to find a place to relax and chat. We set our mind on Baskin Robbins and had their ice-cream fondue with hazelnut chocolate dip. Yummy =D We just sat there chattin bout lots of things, from studies to life to relationships. Never endin. Hehe. All the while enjoyin the delicious fondue. Then at around 6pm, we made our way to Yen Lin's grilled fish (ikan bakar) stall to meet up with Huey Tyng and Sok Yin. I had missed her ikan bakar and ice kacang. They are still that great. Thanks Fel, for bringin me out today =)

Road Trip

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all my Malay friends =) As everyone knows, today is a public holiday. Woke up very early as my family members decided to go on a road trip. Everyone joined in except for Uncle Philip's family coz Nicholas is goin to have his PMR examinations soon. Poor him. We all gathered at Aunty Annie's house before embarkin on the journey in two cars. It has been a long time since I joined in my family road trips coz I m always in KL. Sometimes I really hate bein away from home and miss out all the fun that I might have had. Our family is fond of makin road trips around Johor, lookin for nice places to visit and great food to eat =) But this time I was not sure where we were headin to. All I know is that it's a long long journey..

Cute Jolene

Above pictures were the result of bein too bored just sittin in the car =P

We've reached our first destination after travellin for almost an hour plus. And we were in Desaru!! Hehe. It's been ages since I last came here. I love beaches and sea =D We spent around two hours just playin with water and eatin sandwiches made by Aunty Joanna. Did not get to swim coz we did not expect to be comin here. Nevertheless, it was still full of fun.

This is so picturesque for me

Loveable Grandmama and Jolene =)

My cute family

After enjoyin ourselves at the beach, we went to have our lunch at a seafood restaurant nearby. Apparently, this restaurant has been patronised by Singapore celebrities before, Adrian Pang and Michelle Chia who were the hosts for a food programme. Finally, I got to eat those mouth-waterin black pepper crabs which I have been cravin all the time while in KL =D

Next we made our way to a sort of farm, where many different types of medicinal herbs were bein grown here. Did not stay very long though.

All the elders in my family were so excited bout this well as they knew we, from the younger generation have not seen one before. So they kept tellin us how tough life was last time where thay had to obtain water by pullin the pail out, unlike us now who just need to turn on the tap and ta-da, the water will come out naturally. Therefore we should be thankful for our much easier lives now =)

Our subsequent destination, which is also the last stop, was the dragon fruit farm. It was owned by one of Uncle John's friends. The farm was considered quite big as there were many plants around. And we even got to eat freshly-peeled dragon fruits on the spot. They tasted so sweet. Nice =)

A pitaya (pronounced /pɨˈtaɪə/) or pitahaya (/ˌpɪtəˈhaɪə/) is the fruit of several cactus species, most importantly of the genus Hylocereus (sweet pitayas). These fruit are commonly known as dragon fruit – cf. Chinese huǒ lóng guǒ 火龍果/火龙果 "fire dragon fruit" and lóng zhū guǒ "dragon pearl fruit", or Vietnamese thanh long (green dragon). Other vernacular names are strawberry pear or nanettikafruit.
Native to Mexico and Central and South America, the vine-like epiphytic Hylocereus cacti are also cultivated in Southeast Asian countries such as Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. They are also found in Okinawa, Hawaiʻi, Israel, northern Australia and southern China. Hylocereus blooms only at night; the large white fragrant flowers of the typical cactusflower shape are among those called "moonflower" or "Queen of the Night". Sweet pitayas have a creamy pulp and a delicate aroma.
