Imma Be A Liger

I have always prided myself on being a Leo. For Leo is the lion and lion to me is fierce, confident, dignified and strong. And that's exactly what I aimed to be and still aiming to be.

Back in my younger years, I used to read those daily horoscopes religiously. Everyday when I flipped open the newspapers, I would dived straight into the horoscope section. Word by word I absorbed them thoroughly into my mind. And then I stopped. Just like that. Not sure why though, but my vague memory of it gently reminds me that it was because of my religion.

And then there are the Chinese zodiac signs, in which I would be automatically glued to the Channel 8 countdown programme on Chinese New Year Eve for the yearly predictions. I was always waitin to see if I got 桃花运 not. Lol. Those were the naive and innocent and single years.

Surprisingly or rather not, I was born in the year of Tiger. So I am known as a Leo Tiger or Liger (lion+tiger geddit?) as I affectionately named myself. As though being born under one fire sign is not prideful enough, therefore I considered myself lucky to be born under TWO. It's not that easy you know?

I m so strong-headed and stubborn that I sometimes piss people around me so much I drive them to the wall. I love testing patience and creatin dramas when there are clearly none in the first place. Only after the drama has been created and volcano has erupted then I'll be satisfied. Omgdness, soundin like a psycho now. But this is exactly what I read on certain websites about my liger characteristics which I believed depicted me perfectly.

I m not someone who take criticism lightly. In fact I take every comment/opinion directed towards me to heart and that is so wrong because I m only goin to create more unhappiness in myself. I m not so proud to admit that I m a good actress, I hide my unhappiness really well. To be brutally honest, I kinda dislike the me who take everythin seriously and end up makin my life so miserable.

Then again, all these emotions are only shown to people really close to me, like family and besties. As for my other half, for the first three months a.k.a the honeymoon period, I'll be on my best behaviour and then after that, I will show my true colours /no

However despite all the criticisms that has been thrown at me i.e. fat, dramatic, blunt, sensitive etc, I can still sometimes laugh them off and all will be well except for one. All but one. Calling me an emotional freak.

To me, being emotional is equivalent to being negative. And so I really really hate it when being told that I m temperamental. Yes, I do cry when I feel overwhelmed, but that only happens when I m havin PMS and yes, I do throw tantrums, but which girl does not do that? So what makes me an emotional person?

When the first person told me that he could not be on my emotional rollercoaster together with me two years ago, I couldn't believe my ears back then. And he had to say it out after our breakup. So I shrugged it off, reassurin myself I m not the sort of person and at the same time hatin that person for his ridiculous comment.

Fast-forward to now, I have not heard of that comment since then until last night. 자기야 said it to me. Though I wasn't at all surprised since I was being pretty hard on him lately, testin his patience and all but my pride decided to be oh-so-righteous and took it upon itself to seek revenge. Cold war.

To be fair, I was already feelin extremely stressed out about lots of stuff and havin him labelled me as an emotional freak when he clearly knew what was goin on in my life right now, a cold war is pretty much justifiable.

Perhaps, just maybe, it's time for me to reflect upon myself and stop acting as though the whole world has owed me zillions. That being said, I m still a very much positive and optimistic person to everyone else.

Need to pray for a bigger heart in 자기야.

♥ 발렌타인 축하해요! ♥

자기야 and I finally had our first Valentine's! :D Well since it is the very first time we are celebrating Valentine's as a couple, I initially thought of making it big with lots of plans in mind. However, plans will always remain as plans when efforts are not done to materialise them :( We blamed it on the hectic schedule we had during Chinese New Year.

And so we slacked in our planning and even on the day itself we had zero planning. 자기야 felt bad as it was our first Valentine's and he assumed that I was expectin somethin. Honestly I did, but after a few failed whirlwind romances, I'd rather things be kept to a minimum. Most importantly is the love between us, not the flowers and gifts.

With no makeup done and heck, I didn't even dress up, we went to work as usual. 자기야 then tried searchin for restaurants so that at least we would have a decent dinner together. Unfortunately though, they no longer accept reservations, only walk-ins were welcomed. So I told 자기야 to just go with the flow and see where it brings us.

We decided to try our luck in Publika since 자기야 has not been there before and I have not fulfilled my promise of bringing him there. After work we just battled our way through the usual rush hour *the horror*

Leading actor and actress of the day!

Reached about 7p.m. we went to look around at the restaurants in which 자기야 has read the reviews and at the end we settled down at Namoo Korean Dessert Cafe n Bistro On The Park (what a long name!).

Cute Mascot!

Luckily it was still early at that time so we managed to get a table quite easily. The table was small though but glad that they had pretty decorations ready to get us into the mood for love hehe.

 Hearts x Balloons

One of the corners in the restaurant. Love the quote.

Still empty! But all reserved though.

Did not know what to order so we agreed upon the Valentine's Day set dinner specially created for the day which made things so much easier. Yay to that! Both 자기야 and I have the word 'indecisive' deeply ingrained into our brains. So thank you Namoo for inadvertently helping us evade an catastrophe argument

Foodies for the night =P~

While waitin for our food to be served, what better things to do than to take selfies? So we camwhore all the way! Lol.

There was actually a waiter photobombin this pic but all thanks to 자기야, he PS-ed the poor guy and replaced him with an extra wooden wall. LOL.

Mr. Act Cute

Dinner was served pretty promptly, however though, the table was super small and all the dishes came altogether. So we had to squeeze here and there for all the food to be placed on the tiny table. Abit annoyed but the food was yums so all was forgiven lol.

Blue & Pink Lemonades

Salad: Tofu Garden Salad

Appetiser: Jabche Pasta

Main #1: BiBi Rice Burger

Main #2: Garlic Soy Chicken

Dessert #1: Salt Ice Cream Popcorn Bingsoo

This was their latest dessert creation and it was major yums! I totally feel like havin one now just by lookin at the pic. No wonder they say, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and not only to my man's but to mine too!

Dessert #2: Chocolate Cake

Overall, the food was better than expected and we will definitely return for more visits in the future. Especially for the Salt Ice Cream Popcorn Bingsoo. Omgdness, drools.

After dinner, we went walk walk around the area and saw this place where cute little cut-out hearts were hanging on a man-made tree. Selfies' time again! Hahaha. But there were already two couples sitting there takin their selfies, so we hung around a lil until they left to wait for our turn

♥ Thank you my love for makin this Valentine's Day of mine one of kind, one I have never experienced before. Even without expensive roses, gifts and wine, you have given me somethin much better, a memorable moment to be cherished, treasured and remembered forever. ♥

The Birthday of My Superhero

Ohh well.. Chinese New Year has come and soon-to-be gone (tomorrow is the last day!), I took the opportunity to have my well-deserved break back home. And also to celebrate Daddy's birthday which as always, coincides with CNY. His real birthday is on the 16th February, however as it will be real tiring to travel back and forth KL to JB and vice versa, I decided to bring forward the celebration a week earlier.

Do we look alike? Love him super much! Thank you Daddy for being my hero from the first breath I took till this very second.

And so I ordered a mille crepe cake online. This has been the trend for me ever since I tasted the wonder of mille crepe cakes and I just cannot have enough of them. The first cake I had ordered was from Royal de Crepe and that was for 자기야's birthday, exactly four days before we officially got together. It was actually a rather last minute order and I was very grateful that they managed to deliver it to my office just in time. Oh yea, forgotten to mention, Royal de Crepe is based in JB, so imagine my bewilderment that they actually couriered a frozen cake from JB to PJ just like that (4-5 hours driving time)

Since then, I have had ordered a few cakes from them, for my own birthday (coz I m kesian like that lol), Mummy's birthday and also for another colleague of mine. Their services has been superb except for once where they had delivered it a day earlier than expected which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, so all was good :)

Hokkaido Chocolate Milk Crepe Cake a.k.a My Birthday Cake

Wanted then to order from the same shop for Daddy's birthday but as it was CNY, they have since closed for the festival. So I have no choice but to order from another shop, Humble Beginnings, based in JB also but the difference is that they have their bricks-and-mortar in City Square as well as in Bangsar, KL.

Couldn't decide which flavour to order, I just knew I did not want those 'not-too-adventurous' flavours like chocolate, strawberry and vanilla so I opted for Peanut Butter Blueberry Blizzard :)

And I must say I really love it. Yums! Family loves it too and that but of course is a plus, plus! Too bad Daddy said that it was a tad too sweet for him. Nevertheless, hope we managed to surprise him ♥

First few polaroids as a family! With 자기야 as a plus lol.

The loves of my life. 자기야 said that he looks more like the son than my brother. Haha.

Celebrated at grandma's after our annual Lou Sang dinner and after that proceeded with our "investment" session. Lol. First time playing together with 자기야 and he won! Small small money only though but really glad to see him mingling well with all of my family members. My 小姨 said that 자기야 is 傻人有傻福. Coz he didn't even know why or how he won in one of the games. HAHAHA.

Huat ah! Money money come come :D

Here's to a super smooth Horsie Year :D

Till then, x!

I Love Pink

Have anyone watched Pink's performance at the Grammy's 2014? I m absolutely awed! Declaring that I m impressed would be an understatement. And the best part is she performed one of my favourite songs! I've literally replayed Just Give Me A Reason and set it as my ringtone until I m completely sick of it. That's how I love my songs.

This is seriously good! If I wouldn't know any better, I would think that she's performing for a charity show. Lol.

Hello 2014!

Blink. 2013. Blink again. 2014. This is how fast time flies eh? I used to have this wish to celebrate New Year's Eve with my besties in Sentosa when we were in high school but sadly, that dream never came true. With that and also all of my wishes to celebrate New Year's Eve. All I did on the last day of most years was to glue myself in front of the TV and watch Channel 5's New Year's Eve countdown programme :/ And the only time I got to celebrate with fireworks was when I had a one day trip with my cousies at USS two years back. Ohh well, better than nothin, right?

This year I finally got to celebrate with all most of my favourite people in the world! Before I go into detail of my supposedly very excited and happy party, let me first take this chance to curse wish some karma upon a jerk who decided to ruin our last day 2013. So.. we got into an accident. Because of this stupid jerk. Can you imagine, all dolled up so prettily only to be stranded by the road side, talkin to police? All because of this heartless uncle who may he never get a good night sleep due to his corrupted conscience.

Real time tweets.

So what happened was this Chinese uncle (middle aged I suppose) who was drivin a white Almeera on the slow lane, decided to switch over to the fast lane without givin enough notice, albeit with the signal. And there was this motorcyclist who was just next to his car hence when he switched over, the motorcyclist had no time to react but to hit the Almeera. Basically this was an accident between the two of them and had nothin to do with us but! as I have mentioned earlier, the motorcyclist had no time to react thus the impact from their accident was strong enough for the motorcyclist to topple over onto our car. As all this while we were on the slow lane, just behind the Almeera. For one sec, I thought we ran over a man. The horror. But 자기야 assured me that it was his motorcycle that the car tyres mowed over.

It all happened in a blink of eye so naturally we would not have time to react also, as if we had any choices :/ Coz the only way to avoid that particular accident is to swerve to the left and hit the divider. Sigh. As if all of these were not horrible enough, the Almeera driver chose to run away! Hit and run baby. Worse still, he actually did stop by the roadside on the right and got down. He wanted to cross over to see if the motorcyclist was alright but upon seein 자기야 attendin to the motorcyclist who happened to be quite an elderly Chinese uncle, he quickly got back into his car and drove off! What a nerve he had! Imagine our anger.

자기야 actually immediately stopped by the roadside once we registered in our brain that an accident had indeed happened and rushed over to the motorcyclist uncle's aid. Hero max haha. I, on the other hand, was too shocked that I just remained in the car based on 자기야's orders. And I kinda hated myself for bein in a state of disbelief that I had forgotten to write down the Almeera's car plate number. To be fair though, never would I have imagined that he would run away. COWARD.

There was actually a bus stop full of people near our accident area, who totally witnessed the cowardly act of the Almeera driver. Once the stupid driver drove away, I got down of the car for a little while in my short dress and flats (luckily I didn't wear heels if not FML) to let 자기야 know that the jerk ran away. The people in the bus stop were starin all this while omgdness. But it was also thanks to these people who clearly knew very well that we were not at fault at all, who can be our witnesses any time if they were brave enough to. The disappearance of the real culprit made it look like WE knocked down the motorcyclist. So we were like being judged by the passing cars who knew nothin obviously.

After what seems like forever, a passing police car (like in the movie! where got so coincident one) stopped by to find out what happened. So after explainin, the police allowed us to leave. 자기야 told me later in the car that the motorcyclist uncle refused to go to the hospital, kept insistin he was fine but the police managed to convinced him otherwise. So we left the accident scene and the poor uncle in the good hands of the police.

Car was injured but thank GOD we were not. The aftermath was not that serious but accordin to 자기야, it's gonna cost :S, car was still drive-able though so we continued makin our way to Doubletree Hilton to meet the girls and their other halves. Sorry to have scared my girls, especially Shelly coz I was whatsappin with her prior to the accident. She was so worried that she kept callin us and when we did not answer, she almost freaked out lol. Love you all for the concern ♥

Okay now, back to the happy things! Once we reached the hotel, we hung out abit in Windi's room and I got to try her Magic Curler and Chanel lippie! Mad love the curls. Obviously took some lots of selfies except they were all not clear. Was using Note 2's camera. Hehe.

Then we had our buffet dinner downstairs at Makan Kitchen before headin to the poolside for countdown! Was eagerly anticipatin the fireworks only for them to be covered by all those skyscrapers. Never mind, as long as we were happy! :D
